Timothy A. Slais, Attorney at Law PLLC is a general-practice law office with a concentration in Criminal Defense and Estate Planning.  I began my criminal law experience in 1995, when I joined the Michigan State Police.  As a State Trooper, working out of the South Haven Post, I was responsible for general road patrol, investigating criminal offenses, and enforcement of the laws of State of Michigan.  After almost ten years as a Trooper, I retired after being injured in the line of duty. 

 

After retiring from MSP, I furthered my education and experience with law and graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School near the top of my class, and I continued my venture in criminal law as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office.  As a assistant prosecutor, I tried numerous felony and misdemeanor cases while again representing the State of Michigan.  I also served as the Chairman of the Gun Board for Concealed Pistol Licensing in Berrien County, and I have extensive experience with firearms and the law governing concealed carry in Michigan.  After serving as an assistant prosecutor for over four years, I decided to transition to private practice and continue to represent the citizens of the State of Michigan--one citizen at a time.
