Originally from Dimondale, Michigan, I graduated from Holt High School.  I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan--the real one in Ann Arbor.  GO BLUE!!! 

 

In 1995, I joined the Michigan State Police and earned the title of State Trooper.  I was assigned to the South Haven Post.  As a road trooper, I enforced traffic laws and investigated criminal complaints.  While working with a squad of troopers in Benton Harbor, following the riots of 2003, I was injured in the line of duty.  Due to permanent nerve damage, I retired from the State Police in 2005, and I went on to law school.

 

In, 2006, I began my next chapter at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  While in law school, I maintained dean's list status and earned seven Certificates of Merit in Property, Civil Procedure, Research and Writing, Pretrial Skills, Secured Transactions, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Advanced Writing.  In 2009, I graduated Magna Cum Laude in the top 3 percent of my class with a concentration in litigation.

 

In 2010, I was hired as an Assistant Prosecutor at Berrien County.  As an attorney in the criminal division, I was responsible for handling everything from civil infractions for speeding to felony trials for criminal sexual conduct and assault with the intent to murder.  I was also the acting chairman for the concealed weapons licensing board for Berrien County.

In January of 2015, I left the prosecutor's office and opened my current practice assisting and representing individuals with their legal needs.  Life often presents us with problems of one sort or another, and I enjoy helping people with their legal issues.  Having been both a police officer and a prosecutor, I know proper police procedures and tactics as well as the kinds of things that the prosecutor will look for in their criminal cases.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and our two beagles.  I enjoy boating and kayaking during the summer months, and I have always been a fan of American Muscle Cars.
